No — you do not need to be home for a Lucent Car Care mobile detail. As long as we can access your vehicle and you've shared any special instructions, we'll complete the service while you're away. Just let us know before we arrive so we can coordinate a plan.

How long does a mobile detail take?

Accepted Answer

Most Lucent Car Care details take 1.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on the package and the vehicle's condition. Typical durations: Exterior 1–1.5 hours, Interior 1.5–2 hours, Inside & Out 2.5–3.5 hours, Maintenance 1–1.5 hours. We confirm a precise estimate after inspecting the car.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Accepted Answer

Lucent Car Care accepts credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, CashApp, Link, Amazon Pay, and bank transfer. After the service is complete we send an invoice by text and you pay through any of those methods.

What happens if it rains?

Accepted Answer

If the weather looks bad, Lucent Car Care reaches out the day before to reschedule at no charge. If you have covered parking or a spacious garage we can use, we're usually still able to detail your vehicle as planned.

Do you need access to water and power?

Lucent Car Care only needs access to a standard power outlet — we bring our own water on every mobile detail.

Can you come to my workplace?

Yes — Lucent Car Care details vehicles at workplaces across Chicago's North Shore, as long as your employer allows it and we can reach the vehicle and a power source. Park away from other cars so we have space to work.

Yes — Lucent Car Care uses pH-balanced, biodegradable, and non-toxic products that are safe for every interior and exterior surface, including leather, vinyl, carpet, paint, and glass. Our chemicals are sourced from industry-leading suppliers and clean effectively without harming sensitive materials or leaving harmful residues.

What's the difference between the Exterior, Interior, and Inside & Out packages?

Exterior covers a hand wash, wheels, tires, and exterior glass. Interior covers a full vacuum, surface cleaning, and interior glass. Inside & Out combines both and adds a clay bar treatment plus a ceramic sealant for longer-lasting paint protection.

Do you detail Teslas and other EVs?

Yes — Lucent Car Care details Teslas and other electric vehicles regularly. Our wash process is safe for EV sensors, cameras, and badging, and we never need to plug into the vehicle.

How often should I get my car detailed?

Accepted Answer

Most North Shore drivers get a full detail every 3 to 6 months and a Maintenance wash every 4 to 6 weeks in between. Daily drivers, pet owners, and families with young kids usually benefit from the shorter end of that range.

Can you remove pet hair, odors, and stains?

Yes — Lucent Car Care removes pet hair, odors, and most common stains as part of our Interior and Inside & Out details. Heavily soiled vehicles may need a deep-clean add-on, which we'll quote up front before any work starts.

Recommended to book your Lucent Car Care detail 3 to 7 days in advance to lock in your preferred date and time. Same-week and next-day slots are still sometimes available, especially for Maintenance washes — so it's always worth asking.
